New Members:  a snapshot of what we offer you

LLAIC is a Lifelong Learning organization in the Metro West area of Boston, Massachusetts (based in Wayland, previously in Wellesley, and Weston):
We are well into our fourth year, have about 360 members and have grown from 17 courses in our first semester to about 30. Membership is only $35 per semester, in line with our policy of keeping costs low to encourage broad membership. That policy applies to our course fees as well.

Courses are our core “business”:
Some Spring 2018 course offerings are still available. To see those from previous semester, click here

... and besides a diverse and exciting Course Program, we are pleased to offer ...
Stimulating speakers between morning and afternoon classes on Tuesdays, with selected events on other days.
  •  Social Groups and Events:
"Let's Go" - outings between and during semesters. Visit museums and other venues with new and old friends. The plan is to have one such outing per month.

For past Let's Go outings, visit our Events Archive

Outing to Peabody Essex Museum (March 2018)

Theatre Outing Group: Dine and see a play with old and new friends.

"Out and About": A set of "meet and go" activity groups for all you enthusiasts who want to stay active and involved during the summer and beyond. Some are in the early planning stage, so by joining now, you can help shape what your group does, where it goes, and even what it calls itself. The LLAIC Book Club, Movie Mavens, a French conversation group Parlez-vous Français?, and a newly formed singing group LLAIC Sings are meeting on a regular basis.

LILAC Players: The LILAC Players, your friends, colleagues and course leaders, read their parts while costumed and perform theatrical pieces.  For pictures of the LILAC PLAYERS in their Fall 2017 production, click here.

Driving, Parking and Building Entry Information

The Directions, Parking, Entry page has been updated for host location beginning in Fall 2017: Temple Shir Tikva, 141 Boston Post Road (Route 20) in Wayland.

Parking Notice:
To ensure the safety of the children in the nursery school program and quick drop-offs for the parents, Temple  Shir Tikva has decided to block off part of the parking lot for the exclusive use of the nursery school. There will still be more than enough space for all our members to park on-site. Handicapped spaces will still be available for those with proper signage.

For further details, click here.

Notifications on Weather and other Cancellations

Early in the morning, please check this site to find out whether classes are cancelled that day due to inclement weather or for some other reason, such as a power outage or a funeral at Temple Shir Tikva. Also check your email for a special Quill announcement or an email from your course leader(s).

Weather:  If Wayland schools are closed then LLAIC classes are canceled. If they have a delayed start, there will be a notification on this site and in a special Quill announcement.
